A couple in Wales (United Kingdom) have built and moved into a tiny off-grid home in an attempt to avoid soaring mortgage costs and energy bills. A homeowner in Birmingham (United Kingdom) was given permission to build a single-story garage on their premises. However, once the building was complete the planning inspector discovered that a tiny abode had been built that was not consistent with the plan. The inspector was also of the opinion that the house was ‘substantially larger’ than the approved garage. The owner has been instructed to demolish the building. A nonprofit businessman in Denver, Colorado, USA, has been accused of fraud by promising to build tiny homes and not delivering on commitments.
